Unknown-ness: With a self titled album by a band called the bottles, almost anything can be expected. Cover art of the girl with a colorful dyed side pony tail may suggest a bit of an edge, with the obvious namesake bottle caps over her eyes bringing it back to a more obvious style. The malnourished dudes on the back, with hair taking up a third of the shot have a generic cool 70's vibe which could be Journey or Disco.
Album review: Bottles are basically a 2 person band, the two bros on the back. The first three tracks start off with a bang, very fun, poppy, melodic new wave songs, possessing elements of Squeeze and Graham Parker, but "Too Late to Dance" is a generic slow dance ballad, and the rest of the album takes a safer, radio friendly 70's pub vibe. "Elania" could be really punched up to be a great song by a current band like Ex Hex. Jefery Levy went on to become a Hollywood producer and lawyer, having written and produced the campy horror film Ghoulies, and directed SFW.
