Unknown-ness: Never heard of this band / artist. He looks wacky, and the play on words with his name and island things, i assume this is going to be a silly, embarrassing jokey record full of puns and bad dad jokes. The back image does nothing to settle my hesitation. But perhaps there is some value within these songs, because i always say, there are typically at least two people that are all-in on the production of each record released.

Album Review: There is a good mix of styles here, all within a folk genre...Dylan and Van Morrison esque on the A side, to bluegrass and funkiness with an experiment in echoing reverb to start off the trad."Stranger Blues." "Two Rivers in MT" is an ambient instrumental that successfully mimics water flowing in a stream, and it oddly breaks up the album's momentum. On a personal note, i'm a big fan of Ween, so it's nice to hear one of the 12 Golden Greats, Bobby Ogdin, playing on another album.

Unknown-ness: Never heard of this band. Here is another design with a graph/grid pattern across the cover & back. The mannequin front and band in the same pose on the back says....something? That they could be anybody? The hair and aesthetic of the band photo screams pub rock, so i'm guessing it will be a variety of that.

Album Review: The band has ties to Aerosmith, growing up in the New England music scene. David Hull has been a long time fill in bassist on tour. Charlie Karp began his career along side of Hull, and has produced many commercial jingles for companies like Xerox and Twix, but passed away in 2019. The music here is power pop, with some pub and arena rock threads. Nice harmonies at times, and never aggressively heavy.

Unknown-ness: Never heard of this band, but from the cover, they remind me of the band the Q-Tips, and with the date & fonts, I'm thinking this might be some Blue-Eyed Soul mixed with New Wave.

Album Review: I should have looked at the back, as the way the individual members looks like the seated and stacked big band groups of the 20's, and that is what a majority of the songs are similar to. They also incorporate some harmonica blues numbers, pushing their style into rockabilly and 50's R&B style songs. The song Just a Little Bit sounds like J. Geils Band They are still reuniting (as of 2016) for bluesy shows with choreography among the members, and were popular in CT in the 70's (1972) through 80's.
